US Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis, together with the embassies of the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, and El Salvador has signed an agreement that will protect the rights of workers who migrate from these countries to the US. The Department of Labor states its intention to help any workers who experience any type of abuse in the workplace.
The assistance will be provided under the "We Can Help" program that is aimed at protecting workers' rights. The aim of the agreement is to provide an information network that will assist migrant workers. Abuses can be reported through any of the consulates of these nations, and Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) also has a 24-hour hotline for reporting abuses in the workplace.
