President Leonel Fernandez convened the National Judicial Council (CNM) for next Wednesday, 7 September. The council needs to choose new justices for the Supreme Court of Justice, the Supreme Electoral Court and the Constitutional Court. The CNM will choose from a list of 285 judges who aspire to the 34 high court posts. Spokesman for the CNM, Cesar Pina Toribio, who is minister of the Presidency, said that during the Wednesday session they would decide the order of courts for which the new justices would be named.
