The Executive Branch has extended the compensation for fuels used in passenger transportation and urban, inter-city, tourist and freight unions for a further two months. The measure is contained in Decree 523-11, which orders that beginning today, Decree 183-11 is modified with a two-month extension and an additional 150,000 gallons of diesel in compensation for the Metropolitan Office of Bus Service (OMSA).
The presidential order establishes "the compensation of OMSA, of a sum equivalent to the taxes on the consumption of fossil fuels and petroleum derivatives established in laws 112-00 and 557-05 applied to regular diesel paid for by the affiliates of the urban, inter-city and tourist passenger transportation unions and the freight unions, which use this fuel." The decree also stresses the need to establish this mechanism for compensation, as reported in Diario Libre.
