President Leonel Fernandez appointed a new director of the Central Cibao Central Regional Police today, amidst complaints that crime is rising in Santiago province. Brigadier General Francisco Romer Lopez replaces General Juan Ramon de la Cruz Martinez. Fernandez sent General Ramon de la Cruz to the South Central Regional Police Office, based in Bani. Likewise, he appointed Brigadier General Andres Sanz Jiminian Geronimo to Santo Domingo West division, based at the Los Alcarrizos police station.
