Many places do not accept Travelers checks as there is a big problem with stolen/forged travelers checks going on. I agree that it is a major inconvienence when people don't accept travelers checks.

I was looking at this place before I decided to go to DR. Yeah it expensive, but all the girls are free and you only pay for off site stuff. But the plan ticket is crazy there...

The quality of the rooms at BB's are much better than either of those hotels. Plus the Jacuzzi, mini-bar (not a ripoff compared to mini-bars in the US), moveable mirror, etc.
The price of the girls are also comparable with those in Sosua, especially for TLN.

Plus, they seem to stick you with one chica for your trip. And judging by the pics, the quality of the street girls are better then the ones they offer.
The room is more, the food is more, I do do better than those prices on Chicas, you are in the middle of nowhere. The jacuzzi? When I was tehre they ran out of Propane and it was cold. The quality of the rooms is ok, but i stay in Condos. Overall I am not big on staying at a place like that.

Yeah the cost of stay is crazy... but you don't have to stay with the same girl you can change out everyday... and 1 day you get two girls of you choice... it sounded okay but I decided to go to DR because it's cheaper and more girls in the immediate areas.
Kidfrost, You might be confusing this one with another one, because they are in the DR. I think they used to be on Margarita Island.

Well said, Ricky. Blackbeards may not be everyone's choice, but no-one could reasonably describe it as a rip-off or say the prices are "ridiculous". I loved it on my first ever DR trip but will probably never stay there again as I feel I can do better for accommodation and chicas elsewhere, but I still think they offer a fair service to all and a valuable one for newbies.
I shall have to reprimand Kevy for his unreasonable comments.

This is reminiscent of Babylon Tours that were in SDQ/BC for a while. Same idea, they would give you a menu of chicas to choose from in your total lodging price, which was WAY higher than you could do for yourself. And the girls were never as nice as one could find out in town.
I speak from experience, and it made me plunge head long into chica hunting on my own in a hurry.

Even a frist time chica hunter does not need and should not use a servise like this. You well always spend less money and have more fun by going on your own. Now for newbies it is nice to find some helpful advice from time to time. I have be living down here for well over a year now and have hundeard of hours of vacation time here over the last 5 years. I run into mongers all the time that need alittle help here and there. And i find Jimmy and his BOD have great info for new guys I always recomend new mongers read this board. I also even started a private villa for the real shy type men that need help. We do not sell any package or anything stupid like that. We just offer a great villa to rent with your own private pool and 2 bedrooms for a great price. and we help out when needed and only charge a small fee for work or help that we provide.
For all you New guys sitting at home thinking about coming down go for it you will have a blast. If you are a little shy no problam ask for help there are many great people on this board and people like me that can guide you to the right path and not have our hand in your pocket at the same time.
So get mongering it is fun it is safe

Mark, these adult vacation tours are bullshit. Do some homework here and you will see that for the prices quoted you will not come close to getting your monies worth from this outfit.

Mark, I don't know from your post if you have ever been out of the US, especially if you have ever been to a third world country. You also don't say if you have and Spanish language facility. If the answer to these questions is yes then I would strongly recomend just going to the DR on your own, without using this service.
Even if you have no such experiance or language skills, I still think you should reconsider. The north of the DR (Puerto Plata/Sosua) is very easy to navigate, even for the novice. You also have the advantage of being on this site, where you can do research and probably hook up with guys who have been there done that. No one is going to want to hold your hand, but these are a great bunch of guys, and if you reach out for help they will have your back.
I know that the vacation sounds cheap compared to what you spend in PA., but you won't be in PA. To go to the DR and basically be tied to one woman is a waste IMO. You also won't really get any of the flavor of the country at all. Think about it. In the end it's your vacation and it's all good. Just trying to help.

Supposedly I can change girls every day. It's really the first time out of the US except for a trip to Bermuda a long time ago and I don't speak a word of spanish (well maybe a few) does punta count :lol: . My trip for now is pretty much booked and I am leaving in 3 days, wish I found this site earlier.
They did screw up on my reservations and never ask for a deposit and you don't pay the $2700 until the second day, so I plan on really pushing it hard with the girl I chose on the first day and if I have any problems I guess I can just leave there and get a room at a good hotel anywhere. I see most of the better hotels are around $100 a night.

Ahh man - Enjoy it this time and use if it as a learning experiance of the DR. Once you have DR Chocola you will be hooked!
Try and get out of the place and discover a little of the island and how it works - so for your next vacation you will have just as much fun - only cheaper!
