View Full Version : Hundreds demonstrate peacefully against crime

Sick and tired of the crime wave that is affecting the country, a large number of citizens, including the president of the National Hotels and Restaurants Association (Asonahores), Arturo Villanueva, held a vigil in the Lira Park in the National District on Wednesday evening to demand that the government reform its policies on criminals and crime, with profound changes in the National Police, the Justice Department and Courts. All dressed in black, with placards, the demonstrators called for an end to the crime wave. Villanueva said that the criminal activities were driving tourists away from the Dominican Republic. The demonstration was orderly and the message was clear.
