Inmates at the La Vega jail brutally beat a man who made the news last week after strangling his two children in protest at their mother having left him.
As reported in Diario Libre, 32-year old Junior Rafael Hernandez Trinidad was beaten up by his cellmates before members of the Army could intervene to isolate the man from fellow prisoners.
On Saturday, the media reported that Hernandez Trinidad had used a rope to hang his children, six-year old Andy Rafael and four-year old Yoandy Rafael Hernandez Nunez in the Calac Dos neighborhood in Moca, Espaillat province. The Police said he had acted under the influence of drugs. After committing the crime, the murderer tried to hang himself and later fled, but was subsequently arrested. He told the Police he committed the murder because the mother of the children, Denni Altagracia Nunez refused to get back together with him. The dead children were found at 5:30am on Sunday.
