The Central Cibao Command, headquartered in Santiago de los Caballeros, together with the central office of Criminal Investigations have arrested a fugitive, Cristian Garcia Santana and/or Jonathan Rosario Santana, 34, who has been arrested on 18 previous occasions, according to Police files. He has been arrested, according to El Nuevo Diario, for many different crimes, and he escaped from jail in Montecristi where he had been accused of homicide. His place of residence was said to be in Santo Domingo.
