Low-pressure trough brings wind and rain

The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) reports that a low-pressure trough over the country is causing scattered thunderstorms and wind gusts in the northeast, northwest, north and southeast, along the border and in the central Cibao Valley. Onamet reported that Tropical Storm Maria was moving away from the island and that it was expected to become a hurricane within the next day.
