President Leonel Fernandez and entrepreneur Rafael Perello Abreu officially opened the Centro Cultural Perello in Bani on Saturday evening. The new center, funded by the makers of Cafe Santo Domingo, aims to promote cultural, educational and environmental initiatives to influence the overall development and improvement of quality of life of the residents in the southwestern province of Peravia and the southwestern region.
In his speech, Perello Abreu, president of the Fundacion Perello that built the center, stressed that the center was a contribution to improve the education of the people of the region. The center's director is Ismael Diaz Melo, who said the center would serve to highlight the arts, education and ecology and will be the place to preserve, expose and strengthen all Bani's values.
