I arrived at the airport and it was $40 to get to the Raizor. While in town, I met Anderson 809-445-9980 and he took her back for $30.

I was happy with that price. Anyone else have a cheap airport Taxi?

I'll be in Santo Domingo next week. Does anybody have an update? Hunter? What are the rates for the ride from the airport? around the city?

Met Pipe in front of Shakey Condo #1 Pasteur.

From there to the Garant in Boca Chica was $1,300RD. Hell the guy that took me from BC to the airport was $1KRD and that's like 5 minutes. It was about 40 min from Shakey to Garant with Pipe, no haggling or shit. It was the 1st price he gave me, it was more than fair and I took him up on it. He is now my permanent SDQ-Santo Domingo/ BC-Santo Domingo transfer.

I got 3 taxi's on rotation. I

Luis: 809 980 6186, 4door sedan, he is stationed infront of one the hotels on calle danae(gazcue), and he has whatsapp. Typcally works 9-8 but sometimes works later depending if he has clients

Meija:829 421 7269, newer 4door sedan, he works for a company, works 3pm-11. true hustler in a good way, he has a day job working in a govt office and works as a taxi 7days a week.

romu 829 208 3353, 829 998 3353, he has whatsapp on both, 4door suv passed its prime. stations at the zona colonal, 7am-5pm. he used to be #1 in the rotation but he might be getting to many gringo customers cause he tried to quote me a few times in english

all will give you good rates but know the rates so you wont be suprised. all 3 should give 1200-1600 airport rides.

rates: min 150, normal 200, longer 250-plus

A surefire way to avoid having to haggle with taxi's is just calling the company directly, letting them know where you're being picked up from, and where you're going to, and they'll give you a quote right then, and there. Taxi's won't argue, or have much to say when you let them know you already asked for the price before getting in.

Before doing this I was paying around $900 pesos to be taken from my apartment to SDQ, I figured it was a bit steep as I live 15 - 20 minutes away from SDQ, but figured since it was an airport run, and what not it'd be more expensive. One day when calling for the taxi to take me to SDQ, I asked the operator and was told it's $600 pesos from my house to SDQ. Whilst $300 is less than 10 bucks, it goes to show you, never hurts just asking the company directly.

The two most popular taxi's in SDQ by far are Aero Taxi, and Apollo Taxi.

Aero Taxi: 809-686-1212
Apollo Taxi: (809) 537-0000 / (809)596-6544

To take one step further, confirm the rate with the taxi driver when he arrives before you get in the cab.

You can do that before, during and after and still not get the same price when you arrive.

Any recommendations in Santiago?

In my February thread. I posted a taxi service out of Zues cabana. The prices are much more reasonable.

Tgunz, does your taxi guy do STI to Puerto Plata? I looked up info on a few other sites but they are all outdated. Will be flying into STI in October and not too inclined to go the bus route so any digits for reliable taxi drivers would be much appreciated. BTW , I do have a local Orange number to get hold of them. Gracias amigos.

I can give you the guys number that I use. He comes in from LA Vega. So you don't save much. But you know he will be there. His vehicle is reliable and comfortable. He also WiFi in the car. Arriving at night time I wouldn't ride with anybody else. He carries so there is the extra layer of security.

The Zues guys would be cheaper but I can't speak to their reliability.

I'm going to PM you now.
