The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) is forecasting that a low-pressure area over Puerto Rico will bring rain showers to the Dominican Republic this afternoon and evening. The system, which has a slight chance of becoming a tropical cyclone in the next day or two, will bring rains to most of the country.
In other news, Tropical Storm Ophelia was located 1,640 kilometers to the east of the Leeward Islands. The storm is moving westwards at 22 kilometers an hour and has sustained winds of 100kph.
