The Central Bank has announced that the bills for RD$2,000, RD$1,000, RD$500, RD $100 and RD$50 for the year 2011, have been changed and instead of reading "Pesos Oro" (Gold Pesos) they now read "Pesos Dominicanos" (Dominican Pesos). The bank revealed that it has introduced new banknote security measures so that the general public can verify that the bills are authentic. On the RD$500, RD$1,000 and RD$2,000 bills, the circular seal of the Central Bank is now placed just below the bunch with four mahogany flowers. There is also a change in the position of the figure in the center of the bills that changes color depending on the angle from which it is viewed. The old notes remain valid.
