Legislator Victor Suarez says that an estimated 60% of emails circulating in the Dominican Republic are unsolicited, and that the Chamber of Deputies has approved a bill that seeks to penalize this practice. The bill drafted by the Azua deputy now passes to the Senate for approval. It establishes penalties of six months in prison and fines of 10 minimum wages for anyone sending spam mailings.
