The Presidency reports that Vice President Rafael Alburquerque received 12 young people from Japan who are taking part in a student exchange in the Dominican Republic at the Presidential Palace yesterday. Japanese Ambassador Soichi Sato led the student delegation. Alburquerque focused on the friendship and solidarity in bilateral relations with Japan and invited the young visitors to immerse themselves in Dominican culture and enjoy the country's natural attractions during their stay. Ambassador Sato thanked the Vice President in his country's name for cooperation and strengthening of relations with Japan. He said that so far 174 young Dominicans have visited Japan as part of the same student exchange program. "I would like to thank President Leonel Fernandez, Vice President Alburquerque and the Dominican people for the support expressed after the earthquake that left so many victims and refugees in Japan," said Sato, as reported by the Presidency. The Japanese delegation members are Yoshikazu Iwabuchi, Kazuhisa Takeda, Yuki Suzuki, Gyo Shibata, Daisuke Maruichi, Yoji Nakamichi, Ayumi Noguchi, Saki Oyama, Satoko Korosaki, Risako Awashima, Megumi Yoshinaga and Masuhiro Naito.
