I dont know if any one on ISOC has been there but it is a new place in PuertoPlata and I'll check it out when I am in DR in June, if any of you who are down there right now and if you have time check this place out and give some feed back. Im not sure on their price ranges but I emailed them and when they get back to me I will post it for every one.

I was there in December when it was new. It had a nice set up but was pricy. I drove by a few times and they were still open so maybe they adjusted their prices.

Checked out Ladio Spa in Puerto Plata on my last night.
Very nice place.
Nice bar setup and the rooms are very nice and clean.
It was nice to hear some English music for a change and the staff are very nice.
The problem is that the prices are not so nice. 8O
A small Presidente is 100P and they have no Miller.
The price for a massage is $150US which is fucking muy loco. 8O
I asked for the price in pesos and was quoted 3500P which is a bit closer to reasonable and much better than the US$ price.
They do have some nice chicas here.
Spent some time getting to know Jennifer who is 20 and extremely beautiful and friendly. :D
I was beat and not up for a massage at this time but I did have a few hours early the next day before my flight and we checked out Sencacions Cabanas. :D
This place is nice.
We got a nice big room with jacuzzi.
Price including a Miller and coke was just under 500P which seems very cheap to me.
The Miller was only 60P which is a great price.
Had a few more MGDs before heading out and one more for the road.
She is a bit passive and shy but we had a nice time and she accompanied me to the airport to say goodbye. :D
In case any of the owners of these establishments read this, I am going to offer some friendly comments/advice.
These are simply my humble opinions and certainly nothing to get bent out of shape about. :wink:
Ladio Spa, I don't see how you will survive with your price structure.
3500P is excessive but $150US is fucking ridiculous. 8O
You have a nice place and I can appreciate the startup costs but you can't expect to recoup so much from each customer. :o
At these prices you may never recoup your costs. :?
I would argue that the price is so prohibitive to so many that there will never be the required bulk business.
100P for a small Presidente is too much.
Make it more reasonable and you will get increased traffic which means more people coming by to at least have some drinks. :idea:
Get some Miller/MGD at a reasonable price. :idea:
Set up some fans around the bar. :idea:
Give that dog a bath. :wink:

ps is right it is over priced, and when I passed by to check out this spot is was not all of that it was so small and they only had 2 girls there I understand that it was the afternoon. The only one I would let give me a massage is the owner which I did not know at the time she was she had a big chest :eek: .

We stopped by the La Diosa Spa and there were 4 chicas there and they were nothing to write home about. We were quoted 3,000 pesos and I asked about the 1,500 resident rate and she came back with 2,000. I asked again and she came back with 1,500. Thats when we left.

These prices are more than Costa Rica. Oasis. a good mp with decent chicas is 10,000 colones(about $22). Zona Blue, top of the line with private showers, comunal steam and sauna is $37). I thought DR was cheaper. What am I missing here? Educate me. I have spent 3 hrs reading the board and the prices seem high......at least what I have read about Blackbeards and a number of the clubs.
blackbeard's prices are a bit high but you get other benefits of being there.
in sosua itself you can, relativly, easily get a chica overnight for 1000 to 1500 pesos and a lot less for short time or a bbbj. the massage scene is not the main action in the DR. freelancers is where it's at.

the chicas are free agents except in places like BB's and perhaps the Palace.
at BB's the prices are fixed at, i think, 1300 ST and 2600 TLN. The Palace has chicas that hang there, sometimes for years

this is the infamous Soronji..she's been there for years.
anyway at the Palace the prices are informally fixed by the chicas, union?, at about 1500 and 2500 or close enough.
everywhere else except certain discos in puerto plata and other cities it's a buyers market.
the discos are filled with willing chicas and it's up to you to negotiate.

In a nut shell. The peso was at 50 to 55 to $1 not so long ago and inflation kicked in. Now the peso is stablized at 27 to 29 for $1. Prices in the stores have come down some but at 50 to $1 a 1500 peso fuck was $30 and all night was $50. Many people got hooked on the DR. Now reality is setting in on the streets. The independants are coming to realize 800 to 1000 pesos is better than nothing. But many business owners refuse to budge on prices set when the exchange rate was higher. The place i stay at raised their rates and now have lost my business and referrals. Many restaurants are empty. Hotels are doing very little to upgrade. Supply and demand will be a big test in the next year in the DR. Many have moved on and others are widening their horizons by going to South America, Central America, and Asia. The reason many give for going to the DR is that it is close and cheap. Now with higher airfares, a less than market friendly exchange rate and and just pure greed the DR is losing appeal with many i speak to.

These rates are the good negotiator rates. 1000 pesos is the average. Not much beach action in Sosua. I got 1 off the beach for 1000DR a few weeks ago but made sure she understood it was for 2 hours. Not 1 nut.

thank you everybody for the great insight. i am currently planning my first trip to DR and need all the help i can get. i've been to costa rica twice in the past year and am a hobbyist at home as well. my group has decided to stay in puerto plata area. we are planning on renting a 5-6 bedroom house in casa de campo and are looking to hobby most of the four days we will be there. if anyone has an opinion on where we're staying or opinions of where we can hobby successfully, i would be very thankful.

Casa de Campo is located near La Romana on the southern side of the island. Puerto Plata is on the North coast. Good luck.

They couldnt/didnt answer my questions on pricing thou, and i think the pics on the web site are very old and out of date.

The last review is only like 8 weeks old so I bet it still sucks. Problem with places like this is they charge such a high rate that they do occassionally get a customer and itll cover their bills for a month. One or two customers a month covers their bills and you know how things work down there everyone thinks today and not long term.

As of the end of May it was - dirty, un friendly, un recognisable from the web site, rooms was no wear near a basic standard of useability - did i mention it was dirty.
Now I know we are a couple and thats a little unusual for the DR but the 2 girls that were there were not worth 10 pesos - i would not have let them give me a hand job for free let alone paid for their time.
Wernt interested in talking to us, wernt interested in providing a "service" and i nor the Mrs wasnt interested in them.
As i say - we left - went and saw Frank, and found Cabana Hollywood.
What a fantastic place that is!!!!!

Diosa Spa is mainly for guys nipping out of Playa Dorada and Costa Dorada for a quicky while their wives are in the salon. Think like them. A girl like that would cost 7500 an hour in the UK (10000 in London) so they think they are getting a bargain. They never get to know what things are like outside the AIs.
