The consular section of the German Embassy in the Dominican Republic has announced the start of a new German Appointments System of the German Foreign Office offering online Schengen visa appointments. The service is in effect as of 4 October. The online appointment reservations are now a pre-requisite for being considered for a visa. The already scheduled appointments are still effective.
To request an appointment, contact the Embassy website from 8 to 11am. There are sections with the information for making the appointment in German and Spanish. The appointments are free. The Embassy reports that it will no longer grant appointments by telephone, fax or e-mail, with the exception of groups of more than 10 applicants who should request an appointment by telephone.
