Always check out what is showing at the Cinemateca Dominicana at the Plaza de la Cultura (behind the Museo de Historia y Geografia) in Santo Domingo. This week, for example, they are screening an excellent series of rarely seen European films. Tickets for the comfortable Cinemateca theater are just RD$50.
