The Secretary General of the Organization of American States, Jose Miguel Insulza has called for a peaceful settlement of the complaint filed by activist Sonia Pierre in favor of the children of Haitians born in the Dominican Republic who have not been provided with any documents. As a result, the country has been summoned to the Inter-American Human Rights Commission this month for a hearing on the complaint. According to El Nuevo Diario, Insulza talked to reporters after meeting with President Fernandez for over an hour in the Presidential Palace.
