Dominicans joined the sophisticated world in mourning the untimely death of Steve Jobs, the iconic leader of Apple computers, and reading up on his important legacy. Macs, Ipods, Iphones & Ipads have a very strong following in the DR. Front page headlines and features recognized the man who has changed so many lives and the contemporary world for the better.
From the start and dating back to the days of its predecessor, The Santo Domingo News (1971-1996), dr1.com (1996-) has been done on Macs. Indeed, DR1 donated two of its early Mac computers to the Center for Telecommunications, and these can be seen at the new TV, radio and telecommunications museum located in the Colonial City.
