Dominican music is going full tilt in the entertainment field according to Billboard magazine. Over the last few months "bachateros" and "merengueros" have taken over the music charts, and if something is being heard outside of the Dominican Republic, a look at Billboard will confirm it. Names such as Prince Royce, Romeo, Omega and Miriam Cruz are appearing in the top slots, according to Listin Diario. Romeo has been in the charts for more than 10 weeks, and first with "You" and then, in collaboration with Usher, "Promise" have kept him in eighth and ninth place in the charts.

Another surprise is that he has displaced stars like Beyonce and Adele on MTV. Omega who was not selling out at shows in the country but is being heard on radio and television debuted at Number 3 on the Billboard Chart of Tropical Albums with "El dueno del flow." Prince Royce, whose family is Dominican, is working with Daddy Yankee and now with Mana. "Stand by me" opened the doors and "Corazon sin cara" is helping him stay there on the lists. Milly Quezada and Juan Luis Guerra are also in the charts.

"Merengueros" like Hermanos Rosario achieved the number 8 position in September, and Miriam Cruz was at number 9 this week with "Es cosa de el."
