The Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival held its annual awards ceremony at the Little Carib Theatre in Woodbrook on 2 October.

Jean Gentil, a quiet film on one man's quest for the meaning of life, won the big prize, as reported in the Trinidad Guardian. The top awards went to Jean Gentil, directed by Israel Cardenas & Dominican Laura Guzman, for Best Narrative Feature; Hit Me With Music, by Miquel Galofre, Best Documentary Feature; and, 10 Ave Maria, by Juan Francisco Pardo & Ryan Oduber, Best Short Film. The prize for Best Local Feature went to '70: Remembering a Revolution, by Alex de Verteuil & Elizabeth Topp. Sweet Fries, by Renee Pollonais won Best Local Short.
