The Minister of Labor, Francisco Dominguez Brito, has successfully brought to a close a conflict surrounding pension payments to retired dockworkers in Haina. The strike that would have shut down one of the major ports was avoided as a result. Dominguez said that the last four months of this year would be paid to the pensioners and that the money for these payments was included in next year's budget.
