The former Administrator General of Information (Computers) at the Central Electoral Board (JCE), Miguel Angel Garcia, broke his silence last night and admitted that he was pressured to hand over the election computer work, and that under no circumstance was he going to allow himself to become a "rubber stamp" and stay there collecting a paycheck, signing documents without having any control of the area.
"This letter, this letter was the spark, because things are implied there, things that say that they are making changes, without your knowledge. The databases imply a lot, the databases imply the voter registration rolls, the databases imply the civil registry, the databases concern the "cedula" process, they are the electoral registries," he stated.
In an interview with Alicia Ortega on her show "El Informe", Garcia emphasized that the information contained in the memorandum written by the Computer Director, Franklin Frias, on 23 August, has gone unnoticed, and it is really an implied accusation that they are making changes in the databases without his knowledge. The former official said that he felt humiliated and was not taken seriously by the president of the JCE, Roberto Rosario, and he denied categorically that his resignation came about due to professional jealousy. He said "the interpretation of this letter has gone unnoticed. This implies a lot. It indicates that if anything happens, he (Frias) is clean and that is it. Then who would be responsible? The other person who is there, but the other person is Miguel Angel."
He questioned the fact that Frias had written a letter irresponsibly, and without having the corresponding authorizations because the only people who could make any changes to the database were the authorized departments. See the video with the interview in Spanish:
