During a visit to Colombia last week, PLD presidential candidate Danilo Medina met with Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos. As reported in Hoy, Santos promised that his government would support initiatives that contribute to solving energy problems and the fight against organized crime in the Dominican Republic. Medina reported that Santos said he would consider installing an underground cable to supply the DR with energy, and the DR would contribute its expertise in tourism development.
