As part of the European Partnership Agreement, the European Union is offering grants for small and medium-sized business and private sector institutions in the Dominican Republic, aimed at improving their export capacity. The program is inviting potential applicants to a free workshop on Tuesday, 18 October from 8:30am to 4:30pm at the Jaragua Renaissance Hotel in Santo Domingo during which local company executives will receive training in making applications for these grants. The Direct Assistance Grant Scheme seeks to provide assistance to companies that export goods and services, and assist in developing new products in the regional market.
The 10th European Development Fund (EDF) for the Regional Private Sector Development Program (RPSDP) includes the Caribbean Export Development Agency program for 28.3 million euros for developing the private sector in Cariforum countries. The program will be launched in the region in October and the workshop seeks to prepare Dominican companies for making successful applications.
