Last night President Leonel Fernandez met with members of his economic team and others to discuss the current state of the Dominican economy. During the 2-1/2 hour meeting that began at 7pm Fernandez discussed the country's economic growth, the exchange rate and inflation, among other key economic issues of national importance. Present at the meeting was Presidency Technical Minister Temistocles Montas, Treasury Minister Vicente Bengoa, Central Bank head Hector Valdez Albizu and the Superintendent of Banks Rafael Camilo. During the meeting the President approved the 2007 Budget. The budget is for RD$258.5 billion.
