Classes at the UASD state university were shut down yesterday at the start of a 48-hour teacher and employee strike. The unions seek wage increases of 15% and want the government to allocate 5% of the National Budget to the state university.
As reported in Listin Diario, the teachers and employees will attend the campus, but will not work. Yesterday, university rector Mateo Aquino Febrillet visited Congress to lobby for a budget increase.
