The government has announced a RD$23 million investment in water treatment operations for Boca Chica beach. Boca Chica Water and Sewage Corporation director Omar Munoz said that a tender would be announced soon for the construction of the plant to improve water quality in the area. Boca Chica is the most popular beach with Santo Domingo beachgoers, given its proximity to the city.
