The Dominican Republic women's table tennis team won the third gold medal for the DR by defeating Venezuela, 3-2, in the women's team finals. The US and Colombia tied for the bronze medal.
The match against Venezuela went to a 5th game. In the first round, Xue Wu defeated Venezuelan Fabio Ramos (11-6, 11-4 y 11-2), in the second Eva Brito defeated Venezuelan Ruaida Ezzeddine (11-8, 9-11, 6-11, 11-7 y 14-12).
But in doubles, the Venezuelans Ezzeddine and Luisiana Perez defeated Dominicans Eva Brito y Johenny Valdez (11-8, 11-9 y 11-7) and Venezuelan Fabiola Ramos defeated Johenny Valdez 3-0 (11-8, 11-4 y 11-4).
