Does anybody on this board know of a market in Sosua or Puerto Plata where I can purchase fresh seafood like fish, lobster, and shrimp. Want to bring some back to the villa and put them on the barbie.

is this the place? i googled it and found this. also saw something that said it is 10 km from Puerto Plata towards Santiago.

I go to the pescaderia in Charamicos on the main road, its maybe a quarter mile past the big Farmacia towards the airport on the same side. They always have a variety of fish, fresh and already cleaned (Dominican style, still have the head, tail, and bones) but you can just wash it and cook it. Ive never seen lobster or shrimp there but I always go just for fish. You can also get it cooked there if you like. I think i paid maybe 3 dollars a pound or something like that last time i was there.

Looks like the place, but 10k from POP is not accurate. It's about 10 minutes from BlackBeard's in POP, that's the restaurant part, they also have an open market.

When they say 10K from Puerto Plata, they're referring to the distance from the center of the city.

It's not even 10 minutes from the entrance to Costambar, where Blackbeards is located.

The house I sold a couple of years ago was a couple hundred feet from Parada Maimon.

And for what it's worth, Parado Maimon is one of the more expensive places, there's a bunch of smaller fish markets/restaurants there that are even cheaper!

I've eaten in all of them a hundred times.
