President Leonel Fernandez will attend the XXI Ibero-American Summit 28-29 October in Asuncion, Paraguay. The work sessions will take place at the Central Bank of Paraguay convention center. The theme of the conference is "The role of the State."
"State reform and development" will be driving force of the coming Ibero-American summit. Eighteen presidents have confirmed their attendance, according to the organizers. In addition to heads of state from Latin America, the event will be attended by the heads of government of Spain and Portugal. Paraguayan President Fernando Lugo is hosting the event.
The Presidency also announced that President Leonel Fernandez would visit President Hugo Chavez in Venezuela, after attending the XXI Ibero-American Summit on his way back to Santo Domingo.
