Surgery to separate Dominican conjoined twins Maria Teresa and Teresa Maria is set for 7 November. The operation will take place at the Richmond Children's Hospital in Virginia, USA where the twins have been undergoing tests prior to the possible separation surgery. The twins, who are 16 months old, were born joined at the abdomen. The operation to separate the twins is backed by the Office of the First Lady of the Dominican Republic. The babies were born at the Luis Eduardo Aybar Public Hospital on 8 April 2010.
