Richard D. Holder, president of Electrical Components for Eaton Corporation's electrical sector was in Santo Domingo recently to speak at the annual meeting of the Dominican Association of Free Zones. Eaton is an US$11.9 billion global diversified power management company that has been doing business in the DR since the early days of operating as Westinghouse in 1985.
In an interview with Listin Diario, Holder said that the experience has been good. "Our vision is positive with workforce and we have worked hard to have the best talent," he said. The company employs 2,600 people. Eaton said the DR-CAFTA free trade agreement and the country's geographical position represented advantages, as well as telecommunications and the presence of many bilingual Dominicans. He said the local operation was important and in constant growth.
