Four people who allegedly escaped are being pursued by authorities in connection with the case of the aircraft stolen from La Isabela Airport (JBQ), located in northern Santo Domingo, which went to South America. In the meantime, the District Attorney for the province of Santo Domingo, Perfecto Acosta, said that the Venezuelan authorities have reported that they have one person under arrest in the case. He revealed that whoever took the airplane is out of the country.

"The pilots of the aircraft have still not been identified and sent to court," said Acosta, who is a member of the commission that is investigating the robbery. The authorities have interrogated some 15 people, including ten members of the Specialized Airport and Civil Aviation Security Corps (CESAC).

Acosta said that they have to bring back the aircraft in order to establish the motive for the theft. The official said that there was a need to strengthen security in the country's airports, especially in La Isabela, where they need to improve the vigilance and security systems. The plane, which belongs to the Punta Cana Group, was taken during the dawn hours of 23 October, as well as 150 gallons of fuel stolen for the flight. According to the case file, John Emilio Percival Matos was the person who, together with two others came to the terminal at dusk on 22 October, filled out the paperwork for a domestic flight, and was physically checked out by members of the CESAC. He claimed that he was going to make a flight to La Romana with the two people accompanying him. Once Percival Matos was inside the airport, he stayed in the aircraft until dawn, until he was seen leaving alone by the CESAC agents.
