Lots of rain

The National Meteorological Office (ONAMET) reported yesterday that the next 48 hours would continue to see lots of rain and thunderstorms across the country. Rains are expected today in the National District and the province of Santo Domingo. Although there are no tropical cyclones on the weather maps as we enter the final month of "Hurricane Season," there is a low-pressure trough that will affect local weather, causing rains as the ground heats up. Onamet is also advising small craft to remain close to shore due to forecast heavy wave action in Samana Bay and along the north coast.
