I do not recommend "Bob's" and "Chino Lee".

Bob's took 45 minutes just to prepare a small steak and sandwich (the bread was not fresh).

Chino Lee took 45 minutes just to prepare dumplings and a chicken dish (both were not good).

Both places were not even crowded when I went there.

Have any of you been to a casa in Santo Domingo called "52"?

"52" is now closed. :(

The owner was a Korean name "Mr. Williams". Well, I am 99.99999999% sure that he is the same owner who runs a Korean restaurant called "Jardines Seul" (a very good place by the way).

In my next trip, I will just ask him if he is Mr. Williams or not. :D

never been but heard Vesuvios (next to Malecon Center) is great. 3 buddies went there and said the food and especially the service was great, and the bill was around 5000 RD.

I got this through a regular website on travel. I don't know if all of these restaurants are still around. Oh yeah the post was in spanish.

Como en Casa ( comida criolla)
Pepperoni
Capuccino (Para pasta creo que el mejor es un verdadero clasico, la pasta es fresca Y importan vino tambien) Muy buenos precios por la calidad.

Adrian Tropical
La Dolcerie ( for salads, wraps, etc.... )
Pat'e Palo tambien me gusta

Caffé Milano es muy bueno y tiene buen servicio.

Peperoni de noche tiene demasiada gente y mucha hablando muy fuerte. He tenido malas experiencias allí por esa incomodidad y platos crudos (me imagino que por querer atender rápido)

El Capuccino sí es un clásico, con excelentes platos innovadores y tradicionales.

El Samurai es el mejor restaurante japones y tiene un bonito patio japones detrás.

En Porterhouse subió una cucaracha a al mesa donde comíamos y hay un día de especiales en vodka en el que no me agrada mucho el ambiente.

No he comido en Musa, pero tiene un buen ambiente.

Adrián Tropical tiene un restaurante en el Malecón con mesas encima del mar. Es sencillo y tiene comida dominicana.

La Dolcerie tiene buenos platos, aunque lo considero caro para el servicio que ofrece.

Don Pepe me pareció excesivamente caro y los platos no me impresionaron. Debo admitir que el servicio y el ambiente sí fueron buenos.

They are probably all good, except Adian Tropical which has sucked for years,unless you need a bowl of sancocho, piss drunk at 6 am.
Would be great to hear some current updates on which ones are now HOT , and which ones are not. Looks like a lot more interest in the Capital. Hopefully we can keep this thread up to date.
