Two years into its construction, Agora Mall at Abraham Lincoln and John F Kennedy avenues is set to open in mid-2012. The shopping plaza built on a 120,000m2 site includes the installation of a large central dome to harness solar energy. It is expected to be the first 'green' shopping mall in the country. Two of the leading contractors in the construction are engineers Eduardo Imbert Dominguez and Mareni Bournigal. The shopping mall will contain 180 stores and two underground parking levels, in addition to a parking tower for a total of 1,800 parking spaces. 95% of the plaza has already been rented out, with 50% of the stores already preparing for fitting.
