Dominican tennis player Victor Estrella has defeated Colombia's Alejandro Falla, ranked 81st in the world, in the Challenger Tennis International in Bogota. Estrella is ranked 232nd in the ATP ranking. The win moved him up 69 places in the ATP ranking and he is now in 163rd place. His best previous ranking was 208th in August.
Falla was the top-ranked player in the tournament. Estrella won 6-7 (2), 6-4, 6-4 in a 2 hours 37 minutes game. He said it was the happiest day in his life and that he is working to be included in the world's top 100 by the middle of next year. To reach the finals he defeated Pablo Carreno Busta (Spain), Juan Sebastian Cabal (Colombia), Eric Prodon (France) and Joao Souza (Brazil).
His next important commitment is at the Knoxville challenger 2011 on 8 November.
