If you dig french croissants and pastries and want a place closer to "ground zero". Walk up pasteur away from the malecon and away from girl house. When you hit the corner of santiago there is a little strip mall type plaza with a barber shop, chinese restaurant etc. On the santiago side of the plaza is La Baguette. Excellent croissants and the cake is reportedly great as well. I get large loaves of french bread for like 40 pesos as well. Good stuff.
