I am assuming they produce them locally at reasonable prices? Looking for a store in Santo Domingo - thanks!

What size humidor are you looking for? How fancy? If it's a small simple one, you are probably better off having someone bring it to you from the US/Canada.

Medium size - one that would hold 1-2 boxes of full-sized cigars. Funny, my thought was the opposite, I figured they would be better and cheaper here as a cigar producing country where labor is cheap.

APOS - I will be checking out today the tip from DR1 - you are very observant...!

Wood in the DR is very expensive and the humidors are most likely imported.

Unless you know a woodworker here that will build one for you, you won't find one at a decent price.

Most of the cigar smokers I know here don't even have one. Why have one when you can buy fresh cigars?

Go to Thompson Cigars for a humidor.

Hell, they gave one of these for free when I took them up on a special offer I got from them in an email.

I bought a 10 cigar sample pack for 20 bucks, and the Humidor was free.

Can't beat that.

Good stuff. The free one holds about 50 cigars (I have one, I own 3 humidors). Check out this thread when you are ready to set it up:
