Drivers should be aware that the stretch between kilometers 13 and 15 of the Duarte Highway will be closed during the nights from 8pm until 5am for at least a month while workers building the Duarte Corridor install the beams of the elevated portion of the highway at the Monumental Avenue which goes to the Cristo Redentor Cemetery and to Manoguayabo. The stretch will be closed to traffic every day except Saturdays and Sundays.

The closure affects traffic going from north to south on the highway. Traffic going from Santo Domingo North will not be affected.

El Caribe reports that the Public Works Ministry will direct traffic going south towards Santo Domingo to the right and on to the extension of 27 de Febrero Avenue at the Km13 overpass on the Duarte Highway. This avenue goes through Las Caobas and comes out at the Plaza de la Bandera on Luperon Avenue. The Ministry thanks motorists for their understanding.

The elevated roadway, part of the Duarte Corridor, is being built by the Odebrecht-Estrella Consortium.
