The Ministry of Public Works has identified architect Amaury Mendez of Constructora Duval, S.A. and engineers Felix Antonio Jimenez and Yanet Gonzalez as those responsible for the construction that collapsed on Saturday at Calle Octavio Mejia Ricart in the Ensanche Ozama, causing major damage to a neighboring house. They say the construction was not authorized by the Ministry of Public Works and that after the builders had erected two floors they sought the permits from the Ministry of Public Works that ordered the fulfillment of technical specifications that were not adopted by the builders. The builders initially had the permits for the construction from the municipality.
