The Federation of Associations of UASD university professors (Faprouasd) says that some of the funds sent to the state university are diverted to favor individuals, groups and officials in remunerations and high wages that atrophy the development of the state university, as reported in Listin Diario. Faprouasd said that during Franklin Garcia Fermin's term as rector, 700 new employees were appointed and a further 88 have been appointed under current rector Mateo Aquino Febrillet. The commission coordinator, Manuel Linares said that the policies to improve academic standards at the UASD established in the 1966 Movimiento Renovador have been replaced by politics and political patronage.
The average wage of employees appointed by Garcia Fermin was RD$44,055, as reported in the newspaper. Linares said that there are 1.2 employees for each professor at the UASD.
