A telephone poll by the US firm Zogby Analytics revealed that former President Hipolito Mejia leads in the preferences of voters into the 2012 presidential election. The poll found that 56% would vote for Hipolito Mejia-Luis Abinader, while 40% would vote for Danilo Medina-Margarita Cedeno.
John Zogby, who currently serves as Chairman of the Board and Chief Insights Officer of IBOPE Zogby International, presented the results at a press conference yesterday. He said that 54% of those polled said they would vote for the PRD, 42% for the PLD, 1% for the PRSC and 3% was not sure.
When asked which had done a better government, 47% favored Mejia, 42% President Leonel Fernandez and 11% was not sure.
Zogby said that the margin of error is 3.4%. The poll was conducted 28-29 October with 843 people nationwide using the system IVR.
