A parrot that was practically left speechless after the four-floor building next door collapsed damaging part of the house where she lived in the Ensanche Ozama is recovering. El Nacional reports on the trauma of the parrot that spent two days trapped under the debris of the building at Calle Octavio Mejia Ricart. News reports say that her owners (a couple plus two children) have had to move in with neighbors, and are doubtful the owner of the building will deliver any compensation. Cecilia Cayetano said that the parrot is still scared and reacts violently when a stranger tries to touch her, which she never did before. She is still relaxed with the family members and always wants to be with Cecilia or her children. "She is the only one who can still make me laugh, despite so many problems," said Cayetano. Pancha is six months old and learned to talk by listening to family and the neighbors. She was trapped under the debris from 8:30pm on Saturday to Monday morning, when she was rescued.
