View Full Version : DR inflation hits 7.54% over 10 months

The inflation rate in the Dominican Republic reached 0.03% on October and brought the accumulated inflation for the past ten months to 7.54%, according to the latest information from the Central Bank. Year-on-year, the inflation rate is 8.86%, slightly less than the September year-on-year rate, which was 9.57%. According to the Central Bank report, the underlying inflation rate in the first ten months of the year was 4.88%, and the yearly rate was 5.41%. The bank said that the Consumer Price Index for October remained pretty much the same with a 0.96% decrease in the transportation group, somewhat offset by the 0.47% increase in the food and non-alcoholic beverage groups. The end-of-year forecasts by the bank say that inflation will be in the 8% to 8.5% range and GDP will increase by 5%.
