Current world baseball champions the St. Louis Cardinals have offered their star first baseman Albert Pujols the same deal they offered during training camp last spring: US$210 million for a nine-year deal. However, this is less than Alex Rodriguez, Ryan Howard, Cliff Lee or CC Sabathia will receive, and none of them have a better record than Albert. None were as productive as Albert and no one in baseball history has achieved as much as Albert since he reached the big leagues, no one. No batter is more feared than Pujols, who is now a free agent and certainly the most famous player in St. Louis since Stan Musial. As a result, the player's agent is saying that Pujols is considering proposals from several teams. But not many teams will be able to pay him what he wants.
