Dominican champion sailor Justina Pachedo almost upset Will Logue from Riverside Yacht Club in Connecticut, USA to win the 2011 Bermuda Open Optimist Championship. She was involved in a heated fight for the top spot over the course of the weekend and at the end came in second, and first in the female division. Pacheco is training for the 2011 World Optimist Championship in New Zealand in December. The 2012 championship will be held in Boca Chica, Santo Domingo.
