The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) has forecast a continuation of the cooler temperatures for the next few days, thanks to the winds from the northeast bringing in humid cloud cover. Scattered rains are expected over the next day and a half with some thunder and lightning, mostly along the north, northeast and southeast shoreline as well as in the central mountains. A low-pressure system in the North Atlantic has continued to make the offshore waters dangerous for shipping and a small craft warning has been issued for the north coast from Montecristi to Nagua.
